As a family, this was our first visit to Hendra, having spent the last 12 years at Perran Sands. It took a lot of convincing on my part to get my husband and daughter to consider anywhere else. Still, the cost increase meant that it was unaffordable for us for the first time unless we visited Haven Perran Sands out of the school holidays.

We were very impressed with Hendra from the time we booked to the time we arrived; everything was smooth, friendly, and accessible. On arrival, we checked in at the main reception desk, collected our keys, and headed to our caravan location in Cherry Field, a five—to ten-minute walk to the main facilities.
First impressions were highly positive; the caravan was neat, tidy, smelt clean and fresh, and we appreciated being able to park alongside the caravan, as this isn’t always a given. We were located in a quiet area of the park, so it was peaceful, which was nice. All beds were freshly made, and ample storage was fantastic.

Internet
I couldn’t do a review without mentioning the lack of internet access. We are used to having limited phone signal and 4G; Perranporth isn’t known for excellent phone signal but had positive reviews of internet access in the park, especially caravans.
However, my 4G with Three mobile was better than any access we had to the internet. We couldn’t connect, and the internet provider and tech team were awful with their support. We gave up and just used the mobile hotspot off my phone and plan to take a 4G dongle when we return next year, as it will probably work out cheaper anyway. So, please don’t believe that it will work because Hendra offers internet inside caravans. Hendra also has no connection with the internet provider, as they are an external contractor, so it’s not worth complaining about.
