5 Tips for Planning a Honeymoon

If you’re planning your wedding, you’re most likely swamped with managing all those tiny little details. While it’s a very happy time, it’s also incredibly stressful. Planning a honeymoon trip is not as easy as it sounds, and arranging it alongside the rest of the wedding preparation is best. There are a lot of things to consider before you plan your honeymoon. Here are five tips to help you plan the perfect honeymoon stay!

1. Research and pick the best destination for your honeymoon

The easiest tip on the list, figure out where you and your partner want to go. With honeymoons, you don’t have to stick around in just one place, and you and your partner can hop around. At the same time, most couples dream of going to honeymoon destinations such as The Maldives or Bora Bora. You don’t have to follow those cookie-cutter honeymoons that travel bloggers or influencers do.

So, where do you and your partner want to go? Think about the experiences you want to have together, not the photos, but the memories. This is the easiest tip, but it can also be the hardest.

2. Take advantage of travel discounts and deals that suit your budget

There are more than enough websites online where you can find significant travel discounts, including Secret Escapes, Groupon, and Last Minute. It also won’t hurt to sign up for email alerts for tours, transportation, excursions, or even accommodations you and your partner have been eyeing. Sometimes, those who are signed up for newsletters will get exclusive emails that aren’t available. Having that dream honeymoon trip can be worth it in the long run!

3. Book accommodations and activities in advance

Ideally, you book your accommodation and activities in advance, ideally six months ahead. Whether you’re interested in the Venice Beach boutique hotel or a little island resort, you’ll always save money (and stress) just by booking in advance. However, last-minute trips can be cheap, but don’t always count on those. Save you and your partner the stress during honeymoon planning, and book everything well in advance.

4. Create an itinerary that suits you both

It’s all about compromise regarding marriage, so what do both of you want? What is something you’re willing to put up with during a honeymoon to make your spouse happy? What is something you want that your partner may not fancy? Both of you will have to meet in the middle for this.

5. Make memories with the person you love!

The honeymoon is meant to celebrate the love between you and your newly wedded partner! Make sure that you share the experience equally and have a spectacular time. It’s about enjoying each other’s company and celebrating the holy matrimony between you!
